Now in its 17th year, the Multicultural Excellence Awards recognize outstanding multicultural advertising campaigns produced by marketers and their agencies. Winners will be announced during the 2017 ANA Multicultural Marketing & Diversity Conference, November 5–7 in Miami Beach.
For a campaign to be eligible, it must have appeared between June 2016 and June 2017. Entries are open to ANA members and nonmember companies, or agencies and media companies submitting on behalf of their clients. Winners will be chosen based on the creativity of the campaign and relevancy to the targeted segment. The categories are:
- African-American
- Asian
- Audio (Radio, Internet Radio, and Podcasts)
- Digital, Social, and Mobile Media
- Experiential Marketing
- Hispanic
- LGBT
- People with Disabilities
- Total Market
- Significant Results
Companies and agencies are encouraged to submit multiple entries within a category or across multiple categories. In addition to agencies, media companies are welcome to submit on behalf of their clients.
Entrants in all categories also are eligible to enter the Significant Results category. The winner in that category will be chosen based on demonstration of quantifiable business results. For additional rules, fees, and submission guidelines, click here.
The deadline for submissions is July 14, 2017. Entry fees are $525 each for early-bird submissions until June 30, after which entries are $625. Submissions in the Significant Results category carry an additional $25 entry fee. A portion of the proceeds collected from the submission fees fund scholarships for high-potential multicultural students planning to pursue careers in advertising and marketing.
“Every smart marketer knows the importance and value of the multicultural marketplace,” said Bob Liodice, CEO of the ANA. “These awards celebrate the best in the business and represent one of the most significant honors the ANA can bestow.”
