AKQA has promoted Luiza Baffa to managing partner. Prior to her appointment, Baffa served as managing director in São Paulo. Under Baffa’s leadership, AKQA Casa (São Paulo) has expanded its global footprint, working on high-profile projects across London, the U.S., Mexico, and Brazil. With an extensive background in strategy, innovation and new ventures, Baffa brings a wealth of experience to her new role as managing partner. Her expertise has earned her judging opportunities for the Effie Awards Brazil, the Clio Awards, and SXSW. Baffa’s innovative spirit has also led to the co-founding of AKQACoala.LAB, a joint venture that has propelled artists and brands to the Emmys and Grammys. AKQA was awarded the Cannes Lions Grand Prix for Digital Craft in 2023 and won 22 Cannes Lions, including Grand Prix for Design and Glass in 2024….
“Twisters” and “The Idea of You” Top Guild of Music Supervisors Awards With 2 Nominations Each
The Guild of Music Supervisors has unveiled the nominations for their 15th Annual Guild of Music Supervisors Awards. The ceremony honors outstanding achievement in the craft of music supervision in film, television, documentaries, advertising, trailers, and video games. The winners will be announced during an awards gala at The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 23rd. Performances and celebrity presenters will be revealed at a later date.
Twisters and The Idea of You lead this year’s contenders earning two nominations each recognizing both music supervision and songwriting. Netflix garnered the most nominations for a studio totaling 13 nominations. Additional film contenders include Wicked, Deadpool & Wolverine, Emilia Pérez and The Brutalist. Top TV contenders include Baby Reindeer, Fallout, Palm Royale and English Teacher. Previously announced, songwriter Stephen Schwartz (Wicked) will accept the Icon Award and music supervisor Bonnie Greenberg (My Best Friend’s Wedding) will accept the Legacy Award.
