RATTLING STICK, FCB NOT ALLERGIC TO MONSTERS
A giant beast with thick grass fur rips up park benches and sheds allergens and grass clippings over picnickers in a park. But a couple of folks are unperturbed because they’re protected by Flonase–no allergic reactions for them.
Misko Iho of Rattling Stick directed Flonase’s “Grass Monsters” for FCB New York, with The Embassy VFX serving as visual effects house. Iho and The Embassy teamed on this and another CG heavy spot in the Flonase campaign, continuing their collaborative relationship. The director and VFX studio earlier teamed on a massive Iron Man and Star Wars-themed commercial for Disney.
CREATE NOT HATE SHOUTS OUT FOR TALENT
Trevor Robinson, founder and ECD of London ad agency Quiet Storm, is bringing his Create Not Hate initiative to bear on a new campaign–to be created by underrepresented young talent–for Shout 85258, the text messaging support service from charity Mental Health Innovations. Shout is a free and confidential U.K.-wide text service for anyone struggling to cope. Launched in May 2019, it offers a silent and anonymous way for people to reach out at any time of day or night for help with issues such as anxiety, depression, suicide, loneliness, bullying, stress or self-harm. To date, Shout has supported more than 290,000 texters in over 700,000 text conversations.
Following ananalysis showing that 65% of its texters are aged under-25, 80% identify as female and the majority are white, Shout wants to extend its support to communities currently not prominent among its users–notably Black males between the ages of 14 and 24. The collaboration between Create Not Hate and Shout 85258 is to raise awareness of the support available through the service among young Black men.
Shout will work with young people recruited through Create Not Hate to develop creative concepts and executions for the campaign. It will do so with the help of outreach partners including schools and local councils.
The process will start with a series of workshops with young people to teach them about different aspects of the creative industries and talk about the creative brief. Mentors will also be involved to offer guidance throughout the creative development process.
The aim is to have work completed within eight weeks of the initial workshops. Create Not Hate will maintain contact with participating young people to ensure the opportunity is meaningful and long term.

Two leading artisans–Anthony Jarvis and Guy Lubin–have joined Moving Picture Company’s (MPC) London studio. Jarvis comes aboard MPC’s 2D department as a Flame lead/VFX supervisor. With over 20 years of client-facing experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge spanning film, TV and commercial productions. Having spent the past few years freelancing, Jarvis has a portfolio of work across episodic TV includes The Alienist, Top Boy and Devs. Commercially, he has provided visual effects for brands such as Domino’s, Dyson, Adidas and PlayStation. Meanwhile Lubin has been hired as a VFX supervisor at MPC London, bringing his expertise across Flame and Nuke. Most recently working at The Line, Lubin had earlier stints at Nexus Studios, Blinkink and The Mill. Lubin’s work includes campaigns for Facebook, DHL and Burberry…..
