Cabin Editing Company has brought Kim Christensen on board as the new managing director of its Los Angeles office. She will work alongside founder Carr Schilling in L.A. and in tandem with the company’s executive leadership teams in New York and Europe to continue growing Cabin’s profile globally.
“We are inspired by Kim’s extensive professional background, her wealth of industry knowledge and relationships, and her down-to-earth, approachable leadership style,” shared Schilling. “She’ll be a great fit at Cabin.”
Christensen brings a diverse professional background across all areas of postproduction, including visual effects, design, and editorial. She joins Cabin following 12 years at a52, where as executive producer she helped lead the company to creative success, significant business growth, and newfound synergies across a52 and its sister companies Elastic, Rock Paper Scissors, and Primary. Previously, Christensen held a variety of leadership roles at companies including Bug Editorial, where she led the launch of the company’s L.A. office, Spot Welders, and Public VFX. She began her career on the agency side of the business, working at Amster Yard, a division of McCann Erickson in New York.
Throughout her career, Christensen has gained expertise in all areas of post production and earned a reputation for being hard working, resourceful, and an accessible and collaborative partner with artists and clients. She has worked with international brands including Nike, Apple, Ikea, Samsung, Xfinity and Microsoft, and her campaigns have been recognized with recognition from the Emmys, The One Show, and AICP.
“Cabin not only delivers fantastic and innovative work, but it’s impressive how they’ve been able to balance international growth with the boutique level of client care and attention to craft,” shared Christensen. “I’m thrilled to join the team at Cabin and am excited for the future.”
