As a fellow composer, I’ve long admired his work and his score for The Beasts Of The Southern Wild still takes my breath away many years later. Dan’s melodic sensibility coupled with his innovative use of instruments and found sounds for his scores, makes him an unparalleled talent amongst his contemporaries. He weaves traditional with modern in such a beautiful way, telling bold and heartfelt stories through his music. I’m thrilled professionally and personally to see him come into the fold at Barking Owl as not only a colleague but a friend. In the true Barking Owl fashion, the lines between business and family are beautifully blurred.”
Carol Dunn, managing director, Barking Owl, added: “Barking Owl is making strategic, incremental growth and from that, our ability to attract the strongest creative partners. Dan arrives with a wealth of experience, and an impressive IMDB page to boot.”
