Jonathan D. Haskell, Brooke Primont appointed to AIMP chapter boards of directors

Jonathan D. Haskell, VP of publishing at ALIBI Music, and Brooke Primont, SVP of synchronization at Concord Music Publishing, have been appointed to the Los Angeles and New York chapters of the Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) boards of directors, respectively. Haskell will complete the final year of outgoing L.A. board member Cassie Lord’s two-year term, and Primont will do the same for outgoing NY board member Dana Siegel. Both Haskell and Primont will be up for a full term during the next AIMP election, which will take place in November 2022.

As VP of publishing for ALIBI Music, Haskell has expanded the company’s publishing business by over 1,000% in annual revenue since joining in 2016. ALIBI is now a leading provider of professionally composed music and sound effects with over 300,000 audio files, including stems, alt mixes, and cutdowns. Haskell is also an advisor to Glow Music Group, a boutique music licensing and publishing company representing over 350 indie artists and an extensive vintage catalog of over 8,000 copyrights. Previously, Haskell worked under AIMP founder Michael H. Goldsen for eight years as copyright manager at Criterion Music, which was recently acquired by Universal Music Group. He began his career at ASCAP after graduating from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science degree in music industry.

Primont has spent over 25 years in music publishing, beginning her career at BMI as director of writer/publisher relations. From there, she went on to VP of creative services & marketing (film/TV music) at Cherry Lane Music Publishing before moving up to SVP of music placement & licensing for Razor & Tie. Primont has been at her current position as head of Concord Music Publishing’s U.S. synchronization department for over five years, managing a team of 10 professionals and securing placements across ads, film, TV, trailers, promos, and gaming for a catalog that has grown to over 600,000 copyrights.
