Award winning musician, composer, and Mercury Prize nominated producer Daniel Lopatin, aka Oneohtrix Point Never, delivers an electronic score for the critically lauded feature Good Time, written and directed by the Safdie brothers. The film introduces us to Constantine Nikas (portrayed by Robert Pattinson) who after a botched bank robberty embarks on a twisted odyssey through the city’s underworld in an increasingly desperate-and dangerous-attempt to get his brother out of jail. Over the course of one adrenalized night, Constantine finds himself on a mad descent into violence and mayhem as he races against the clock to save his brother and himself.

The Safdie brothers wanted the score to become another character in the film.  Oneohtrix Point Never crafted distinct musical languages for the characters, which supplied them an additional layer of individuality. “I wanted to create a carnival-like world in Nick Nikas’ head, who is an overgrown toddler struggling in the adult landscape.”
 
Director Josh Safdie’s interest in working with Oneohtrix Point Never dates back nearly a decade.  “Eight years ago, we were turned onto the music of Oneohtrix Point Never. I had always imagined Dan’s work as soundtracks to movies that never existed. From our collaboration on Good Time, we have gained a deep friendship and a fluorescent extra-terrestrial score.”
 
Oneohtrix Point Never’s extensive production credits include Anohni, FKA Twigs, David Byrne and Nine Inch Nails among others. In addition to Good Time, his other film scores include Ariel Kleiman’s Partisan (2015), and Sofia Coppola’s Bling Ring (2013).

Good Time, which debuted theatrically, will be  released on Blu Ray/DVD on November 21.
