Advertising agency 22squared has promoted Brandon Murphy to chief client officer, a newly created position at the shop.

Reporting directly to president and CEO Richard Ward, Murphy will continue to lead 22squared’s brand strategy, media and analytics teams, while expanding responsibilities to now also oversee the agency’s account management teams. In this new expanded role, he will be responsible for bringing innovative thinking to how 22squared services and supports their client partners.

Murphy was previously EVP, chief strategy officer, where he helped shape 22squared’s rebranding and repositioning, and redefined key parts of its business, including its brand strategy, media planning, media buying and analytics departments.

Prior to joining 22squared more than a decade ago, Brandon was a SVP, planning director at Campbell Ewald. He also previously served as a strategic planner at Thompson Murray, a shopper marketing firm specializing in retail branding strategies.
