Main title sequence for "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 3" takes 1st place; lineup spans comedy, shorts, commercials

VERO BEACH, Fla. --The most viewed videos of 2023 posted to the SHOOT Publicity Wire (SPW) include a main title sequence for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, a trailer to a feature documentary on Selena Gomez, a Gal Musette’ music video, and an American Express commercial featuring Lin-Manuel Miranda.
The most watched SPW video of 2023 was Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’s main title sequence–set to an acoustic version of “Creep: by Radiohead. Sarofsky served as production company on the main titles for client Marvel Studios.
The second most-viewed entry of 2023 was the trailer to the feature documentary Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me.
Taking third place was Gal Musette’s music video for the song “Je vois le ciel,” inspired by French poet and screenwriter Jacques Prévert. The song pays homage to his style of “song poems.” The song was written by Gal Musette and produced by Jonathan O’Brien.
Fourth place went to director Charlie Kaufman’s short film Jackals & Fireflies in which a woman reflects on her life.
Finishing fifth in our SPW countdown was a teaser for writer-director Kayla Abuda Galang’s short film titled When You Left Me on That Boulevard.
Sixth place for total clicks in 2023 was earned by McDonald’s and Karen X Cheng’s video celebrating Lunar New Year 2023, aka Year of the Rabbit and Cat.
Settling into the seventh SPW video views slot was Harley-Davidson’s CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide launch film
Eighth place in the SPW video countdown went to Ponysaurus Brewing’s The Lieutenant Governor’s Fund for the Fabulous, launched in response to a speech given by North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robison who referred to LGBTQ+ people as “filth.” In this lighthearted, two-minute social media video, members of the LGBTQ+ community repeat Robinson’s words and jokingly express their astonishment. They also note that Ponysaurus Brewing is donating profits from its “Don’t Be Mean to People” beer to aid the LGBTQ+ community for the remainder of Robinson’s term.
Garnering ninth place was Swift Meats’ comedy commercial titled “The Return of Gustavus Swift,” directed by Patrick Sherman of Slash Dynamic.
And rounding out our top ten in the SPW video derby was the American Express commercial, “The Rhythm of the Island,” in which Lin-Manuel Miranda reflects on how he derives creative inspiration from the sounds of Puerto Rico.

Full Lineup Set For AFI Fest; Official Selections Span 44 Countries, Include 9 Best International Feature Oscar Submissions
The American Film Institute (AFI) has unveiled the full lineup for this year’s AFI Fest, taking place in Los Angeles from October 23-27. Rounding out the slate of already announced titles are such highlights as September 5 directed by Tim Fehlbaum, All We Imagine As Light directed by Payal Kapadia, The Luckiest Man in America directed by Samir Oliveros (AFI Class of 2019), Zurawski v. Texas from executive producers Hillary Clinton, Chelsea Clinton and Jennifer Lawrence and directors Maisie Crow and Abbie Perrault, and Oh, Canada directed by Paul Schrader (AFI Class of 1969). A total of 158 films are set to screen at the 38th edition of AFI Fest.
Of the official selections, 48% are directed by women and non-binary filmmakers and 26% are directed by BIPOC filmmakers.
