RadicalMedia has signed award-winning filmmaker Marc Webb for representation in the U.S. spanning commercials, branded content, and music videos. The director has a body of work that includes notable features, episodic TV, spots and music videos.
Webb’s first feature was the indie summer romantic comedy (500 Days) of Summer, starring Joseph Gordon Levitt and Zooey Deschanel. The film was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards, including Best Picture, and The National Board of Review honored Webb with its Spotlight Award, which recognizes outstanding directorial debuts. Before long, he was handpicked by Sony Pictures to steer the smash hit The Amazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, and Sally Field which grossed over $750 million worldwide. He returned to direct the sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which released in 2014. During Webb’s commitment to the Spider-Man franchise, he also directed episodes of The Office. From 2015 – 2019, Webb was an executive producer on Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, for which he also wrote and directed episodes.
Many of Webb’s music videos were instantly iconic and instrumental to the launch of his successful career in features, including videos such as Green Day's “21 Guns,” AFI's “Miss Murder,” My Chemical Romance's “Helena” and The All-American Rejects' “Move Along.’ Webb's commercial credits include campaigns for Allstate, Target and USPS to name a few.
“I’ve been wanting to work with Marc as soon as I saw (500 Days) of Summer,” said RadicalMedia president and EP, Frank Scherma. “That film is so relatable to everyone, with such real and truthful performances. I should have known based on his amazing music videos that he would be celebrated on so many levels of filmmaking. We are thrilled to have Marc on board.”
Webb shared, “I’ve always loved the craft, collaboration and creativity in the short form and look forward to working with the team at Radical. It’s a fascinating time to be creating content, and I feel like they are always looking at the business in new ways.”
