The Cinema Audio Society has unveiled the nominees for its 54th Annual CAS Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing for 2017 in seven categories.  Also announced were the Outstanding Product Nominations.

The live-action motion picture category featured nominations for Baby Driver, Dunkirk, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, The Shape of Water, and Wonder Woman.
 
“The CAS would like to congratulate all our nominees for their fine work in 2017. The standard of excellence from our creative community is on display for all to hear and we are delighted to be blessed with this year’s wealth of wonderful work,” said Mark Ulano, president of CAS.

Final balloting for Outstanding Sound Mixing and Outstanding Products will open online Thursday, February 1, and end Wednesday, February 14, at 5pm PST.
 
The CAS Awards will be presented at a sealed envelope dinner on February 24 in the Bunker Hill Ballroom of the OMNI Los Angeles Hotel at California Plaza. During the awards the highest honor of the CAS, the CAS Career Achievement Award, will be presented to re-recording mixer Anna Behlmer, the CAS Filmmaker Award will be given to Joe Wright and the Edward J. Greene Award for the Advancement of Sound will be presented to Tomlinson Holman, CAS. The Student Recognition Award winner will also be named and receive a $2,500 prize.
