Hooligan, a creative postproduction boutique that specializes in offline editing and visual effects, has promoted Zach Hinden to a staff editor position. Previously a junior editor, Hinden has already cut commercials and branded content for Hawaiian Tropic, LLS, Just for Men, and Harvoni.
“From client services to logging dailies to assistant editing, the breadth of experience I’ve gained at Hooligan through the years has primed me for this position,” said Hinden. “Not only have I been able to hone my craft working under exceptionally talented people, but I’ve also gained a deep appreciation for the value of relationships in this industry.”
The son of two career Madison Avenue professionals, Hinden jumped head first into the world of advertising. He studied mass communications as a member of Tau Epsilon Phi at The University of Delaware. Wanting to further his postproduction knowledge, he accepted an internship at A Cool Dry Place. It was here that he became enamored by the editorial craft, which he found rekindled his passion for solving puzzles.
It wasn’t long before Hinden was introduced to Hooligan partner/editor Eric Carlson, his mentor of the next several years. Through this professional partnership, Hinden immersed himself in every facet of the postproduction business, while contributing to commercial campaigns for Chevron, Vicks, and Time Warner Cable, among other brands.
