Y&R New York has hired Thomas Shim as creative director on the Dell account. As of Nov. 16, Shim will work closely with Christian Carl, global executive creative director on Dell, helping to manage the day-to-day business and continue to elevate the work. Carl and Shim both report to chief creative officer Leslie Sims.
Shim joins Y&R from Spike DDB, where he was associate creative director on Cadillac and Chevrolet. Prior to this, Shim was an integrated creative at Havas Worldwide in New York, contributing his talents to such brands as Dos Equis, Heineken, Ritz, and Durex. He has also freelanced at a variety of agencies including BBDO, R/GA, MRM McCann, Saatchi and Saatchi, as well as Comedy Central and Heineken USA. His work had been recognized by the Clios, Art Directors Club, Cannes Lions, New York Festival and more. Shim is also an independent filmmaker, app developer, and a professor of advanced advertising and digital design at the School of Visual Arts.
