Y&R New York has made three key hires: Christian Carl as global executive creative director overseeing Dell; Hamish McArthur as head of design; and Greg Lotus as executive director of integrated production. All three report to Leslie Sims, Y&R New York’s chief creative officer.
Carl will mainly devote his talents to Dell, and will also contribute to business development efforts for the agency. Carl comes to Y&R from Havas New York, where, as executive creative director, he led creative development on Dos Equis and other clients, and helped to secure new business. Carl also spent seven years at Arnold Worldwide, where he was promoted to interactive creative director and oversaw the Volvo account.
As executive director of integrated production, Lotus will oversee production across all clients at Y&R New York. A pioneer of integrated production, Lotus has an impressive track record of producing award-winning work for global brands, including MasterCard, Sony, Nikon, Verizon and General Mills. For nearly 20 years prior to joining Y&R, he held successive roles at McCann New York, rising in the ranks from assistant producer to sr. VP/executive producer.
Responsible for setting the design vision for Y&R NY, McArthur oversees a team of designers and works across the agency’s clients, including Campbell’s, Dell, Hillshire Brands, Pepperidge Farms, the U.S. Navy and Xerox. He has 20 years of award-winning brand identity, print and digital design experience at agencies including Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis, McCann Erickson and Sugar & Partners.
