THE SPOTS
"Tunnel" (:60/:30) opens on a man covertly stepping from a European urban street into a 2004 Jaguar X-Type. Suddenly, a cluster of police vehicles begin pursuing the Jag as it exits the city and navigates a snow-covered mountain pass. One of the police cars skids out of control, unable to maneuver along the treacherous terrain. The Jaguar enters a tunnel, and the spot cuts to the passageway’s exit. The police cars suddenly drive out of the tunnel, but the Jag is nowhere in sight. Inside the tunnel, the Jaguar is shown clinging to the ceiling, having escaped its pursuers. A super appears: "Lives for: supernatural grip," followed by the tagline, "Born to perform." In "Tag," a man carrying a thermal igloo pack walks through a blinding white alpine snow meadow. He gets into his Jaguar X-Type and navigates the roads down the mountain. Onscreen text reads, "Born with: permanent all wheel drive." The :30 then shows a European courtyard where a young couple sits in a plaza restaurant enjoying coffee. Suddenly, the Jaguar pulls up, its passenger side window slides down, and the male coffee drinker gets beaned with a snowball. The text concludes, "Lives for: missions accomplished." And "Grip" (:30) shows a man driving his X-Type up a steep mountain in the dead of winter. He makes it up to the top and takes in the gorgeous scenery at 15,000 feet. "Born with: permanent all wheel drive," reads the super. The man then decides to get out of the vehicle and enjoy the view, but leaving the sure-footed Jaguar may not have been the best idea, as he slips on the icy surface and falls on his stylish rear end. "Lives for: holding its ground," the super says.
