The Producers Guild of America (PGA) has announced the television series/specials, children’s programs, long-form television, sports programs and digital series nominations for the 28th Annual Producers Guild Awards. The categories include: The Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Drama; The Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Comedy; The David L. Wolper Award for Outstanding Producer of Long-Form Television; Outstanding Sports Program; and Outstanding Digital Series.
Among the TV nominees are Game of Thrones, Westworld, The People v. O.J. Simpson, The Night Of, The Night Manager, Black Mirror and Sherlock.
All 2017 Producers Guild Award winners will be announced on Saturday, January 28, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. This year, the Producers Guild will present special honors to Tom Rothman (Milestone Award), James L. Brooks (Norman Lear Achievement Award in Television), Irwin Winkler (David O. Selznick Achievement Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures), the feature film Loving (Stanley Kramer Award), and Megan Ellison (Visionary Award). The 2017 Producers Guild Awards co-chairs are Donald De Line and Amy Pascal.
The documentary theatrical motion pictures category nominations were previously announced by the PGA in late 2016, and the theatrical motion picture and animated theatrical motion picture nominees will be announced on January 10.
The 2017 Producers Guild nominated television programs are listed below in alphabetical order by category, along with producers’ names. Some television series and programs are still in the process of being vetted for producer eligibility this year, and winners in these categories will be announced at the official ceremony on January 28th.
