This :30 shows us a pickup truck hurtling by and overturning in mid-air, while a voice, presumably that of a minister, recites wedding vows: "…for richer and for poorer, in sickness and in health…"
At the point where the truck lands upside-down on the ground, we hear the last part of that classic vow, "’til death us do part." The truck is now a shell of its former self. Seeing this beaten up wreckage, one can only imagine how its occupants have fared.
A super reads, "Pickups are two times more likely to roll over than cars."
The next super informs us, "And without your safety belt, there’s a very good chance…"
"…it’s death," reads the concluding super.
An end tag carries the slogan, "Buckle up in your truck," accompanied by a logo. The second part of the tag reads, "Save a life," and identifies the sponsor, the Texas Department of Transportation.
The overall sponsor is the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), with the spot breaking last month in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and New Mexico.
