Hollywood celebrated the best in motion picture marketing and a big win for female directors and female driven films at the 18th Annual Golden Trailer Awards on Tuesday night (6/6) at the Saban Theater. More than 1,000 studio marketing executives, movie fans, celebrities and trailer editors were on hand as Open Road Entertainment and AV Squad’s work for Warner Bros. Wonder Woman trailer titled “What She Is” won the Best of Show Prize and the top honor for Best Fantasy/ Adventure Trailer.
While the Golden Trailer Awards bestows trophies in 115 different categories (full list below), only 17 of the top honors were handed out live before a sold-out crowd. To view a selection of the winning trailers, click here.
Warner Bros. (including HBO and New Line Cinema) was the big winner of the night, taking home 26 Golden Trailer Awards overall. FOX (including 20th Century, Searchlight, FX, and FXX) won a total of 15 statues, while Disney, and Netflix each took home 7, and Universal, Sony (including Screen Gems) and Lionsgate each earned 6.

The Golden Trailer Awards were launched in 1999 by Evelyn Watters and Monica Brady as a way to recognize the best of the best in worldwide motion picture and television marketing.
“Everyone loves trailers! The Golden Trailer Awards celebrates those beloved trailers, the people who make them and the best in motion picture marketing. We recognize the teams that work countless hours to ignite excitement in movie fans all over the world and truly push this art form to the next level. This is an exciting time for our industry!” said Watters.
Added EP Brady, “Once again, we had more submissions this year than ever. We love this community of artists and editors and believe it is important to shine a spotlight on their achievements. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!”
The evening was also highlighted by a tribute to Christopher Park who passed away last month at the age of 39. Park created trailers for such movies as The Dark Knight Rises, Interstellar, Iron Man 3, The Great Gatsby and American Sniper. During his career as an editor, Park garnered numerous Golden Trailer and Kay Art Awards. On hand in the audience were Park’s son Elec and brother Daniel. A short film containing some of Christopher Park’s best work was screened for the Golden Trailer Awards audience. Park was described as an artist who “changed the way we look at movies.”
