Wall to Wall Films, New York, has added two directors to its roster-Atlanta-based Glen Owen and Tel-Aviv-based Lior Har-Lev.
Launched last August by executive producers Eric Calderon and Paul McCarthy and director J. Wesley Jones, Wall to Wall is part of the Multi-Video Group family of companies, which also includes Rhinoceros Editorial, Rhinoceros Visual Effects & Design, Cool Beans Digital Audio and Wax Music & Sound, all in New York.
Owen-who will continue to be represented by production company Fireside Films, Atlan-ta, in the Southeast-has known McCarthy for several years, having met him through a mutual friend in the industry.
Owen has a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in radio, TV and film from the University of Georgia. He broke into directing at Cable Advertising Metro, Atlanta, where he was writing, editing and shooting what he calls "little $500 mom-and-pop local cable commercials."
"It was an awesome way to learn because I was shooting a commercial every day and got to learn all aspects of the creative process-on a very primitive level-but it was a great first job," he said.
He worked at Cable Advertising from ’90-’92 and then left to become a freelance writer/producer, picking up assignments at TBS, TNT and local Atlanta TV stations while continuing to build his commercial reel. In ’95, TNT commissioned him to write and direct its NFL image campaign, "Don’t Miss a Game." Since then, he has been repped by Fireside Films. Owen’s credits include a First Energy package of commercials-"Lady Liberty," "Honest Abe," and "Jacobs Field"-via Wyse Advertising, Cleveland; a campaign for Maxfli golf balls, "Revolution," "Elite," and "Patriot," via J. Walter Thompson, Atlanta; and a promotional spot for the NBA playoffs, "The Boss."
Owen has also recently completed a short film, Crapped Out: The Lionel Heavenblast Story, about a man fighting his obsession with the dice game craps.
