Untold Studios has signed director Paul Mitchell for worldwide representation spanning all of his creative output, including but not limited to commercials, music and TV. Mitchell, who will be based in Untold’s L.A. studio, was part of the team that worked on Apple TV+’s For All Mankind “Season 3 Experience” which won the primetime Emmy for Outstanding Emerging Media Program.
A storyteller whose cinematic eye elevates live-action with exemplary visual effects, Mitchell has received global recognition throughout his career with over 40 international awards and nominations from the Emmys, BAFTA and D&AD, to name a few.
Prior to joining Untold Studios, Mitchell had directed independently via Elastic, crafting acclaimed campaigns such as Honda’s CG-fueled “The Origin of Determination,” the NFL’s 2020 kickoff film “It Takes All of Us,” scored by Alicia Keys, and HBO’s Emmy Award-nominated title sequences for Watchmen.
Mitchell’s extensive portfolio includes campaigns for Jack Daniel’s, The North Face and the Obama administration alongside VFX for Iron Man 2, Battleship and G.I. Joe: Retaliation. During his tenure as design director at BBC Broadcast, Mitchell led the graphic design for the BAFTA-nominated Athens Olympics opening titles.
Mitchell said, “I was drawn to Untold Studios because of the people, some of whom I know very well, and of course, the amazing work. I’ve watched the studio grow rapidly over the past few years and have really enjoyed seeing the creative output. I am genuinely excited to see where we go from here, continuing to make impactful creative work, and enjoying the people and experience along the way.”
Neil Davies, chief creative officer at Untold Studios, shared, “Paul is a huge creative talent and has spent many years working on award-winning work for brands and agencies around the globe. From capturing cinematic live action as well as crafting stunning design and visual effects work, he’s the perfect fit to join our growing team in L.A. and I’m really looking forward to seeing the creative work that’s to come in 2024.”
