Director Peter Rodger, whose work spans spots and features, has joined Untitled, the L.A.-based commercial production company headed by founders/executive producers Jim and Kristin Evans.
Between his spot directorial endeavors, Rodger spent three years creating the nonfiction film Oh My God (Hugh Jackman, Ringo Starr) and collaborated with Gary Ross as second unit director on the motion picture blockbuster The Hunger Games. He also directed for the latter the propaganda film for the fictional “Capitol” in the story.
Rodger comes to Untitled after stints with Bandito Brothers and Recommended Media. He is looking forward to creating shortform stories for the advertising industry again. “I love commercials. The short, sharp timelines; the variety; working with interesting people all the time; shooting in multiple countries; using state-of-the-art equipment; understanding the nuance of fashion, of culture and of contemporary thought processes; and mainly telling compelling stories in 30 or 60 seconds.”
Rodger said he was drawn to Untitled for its directorial talent as well as the support provided by exec producer Jim Evans and the company’s sales force consisting of reps Tracy Bernard, Sarah Jenks, Ann Asprodites and Siobhan McCafferty.
Both cheeky and breathtaking, Rodger’s portraiture and perceptive images provide an usually strong foundation for his insightful storytelling.
Rodger acquired his eye and penchant for fine art photography from his father, George Rodger, the renowned photojournalist and co-founder of Magnum Photos.
