THE SPOTS
Three :30s feature Level (3)’s eponymous red parentheses—adapted from the company’s bracketed logo—as towering 3-D obelisks that hover in mid-air over cityscapes to reinforce Level (3)’s global presence in the telecommunications industry. "Carrier/Wireless," "Broadband" and "ISP/Media" are set in a high-tech, cosmopolitan city. As Sean Connery’s voiceover details the company’s slate of services, the camera glides through each scene, swooping from inside a modern office building outward and toward the sky, where the parentheses frame a singular skyscraper, passing through a home where children surf the Internet, then zipping back outside and across the city skyline. "Why do all the leading companies expect so much from us?" asks Connery. "Because their companies expect so much from them." The commercials end with the company’s logo and the tagline, "Level (3). The network partner you can rely on."
