Tool of North America, a creative production partner to brands and agencies, has brought Catlin Choate on board as director of events and Max Kislevitz as head of brand. As the offerings and capabilities that brands and agencies look for in a creative partner change, these new hires are key in allowing Tool to expand its mission of working with clients to create cultural moments that get people talking.
Tool has seen rapid growth in its Experience offering over the last five years and is expanding its capabilities to event logistics and management by enveloping Choate’s existing clients from her event company, CC Events. Choate brings to Tool extensive experience overseeing global events in fashion, entertainment and sports. Prior to Tool, she launched CC Events in 2012, an event planning company that works with brands, experiential agencies and individuals, which will now be rolled into the Tool brand. Choate’s hiring provides additional internal support and infrastructure for Tool’s experiential events, ensuring that all project logistics are covered and executed smoothly. Her recent projects include planning the Amazon Lockers at Coachella, as well as three New Balance installations at the New York Marathon. Her first project in this role will be for Amazon Prime Video at San Diego Comic Con this week.
“Tool has been a key component of some of the best recent brand campaigns, supported by the talent of both their Content and Experience teams. I’m looking forward to working with each of these teams in order to bring clients the strongest event platforms to connect with their consumer in unique and personal ways,” said Choate.
Additionally, as the new head of brand, Kislevitz will work directly with Tool’s clients to strategically identify areas that Tool can further support its clients and represented talent. Prior to Tool, Kislevitz was the head of business development at Droga5 and has led award-winning work for clients such as Netflix, Google, the NFL and Coors Light.
Kislevitz said of Tool, “I’ve been a fan of the company for many years, having partnered with their team in the past through the agency side, I believe Tool brings something truly unique to the industry and to its clients, with an unrivaled roster of talent and production work across content and experience.”
Dustin Callif, managing partner at Tool, said of Choate and Kislevitz, “Their expertise across strategy and event management will help us continue to innovate and support clients in every area of a campaign. These new roles also speak to the ways industry demands are changing and Tool’s commitment to giving clients world class services.”
“Tool’s Content offering has been growing rapidly as we adapt to the changing industry and evolving client needs,” said Nancy Hacohen, managing director, content at Tool, adding that “having Max on board will help us ensure that we’re giving our directors exciting projects while also staying on top of the cutting-edge innovations of the industry and pinpointing the strategic areas for us to grow.”
