Commonwealth//McCann, McCann Worldgroup’s globally dedicated agency of record for Chevrolet, has named Todd Riddle as its chief creative officer, global markets. Riddle will be based out of the agency’s Detroit headquarters, and will oversee all creative work worldwide, working to ensure overall excellence and consistency supporting the Chevrolet brand.
Riddle will partner with CCO Gary Pascoe, who will continue to lead all U.S. creative for Commonwealth//McCann, and Matt Canzano, EVP, deputy global CCO, Commonwealth//McCann, who has been instrumental in advancing the agency’s General Motors business and helping to streamline team efforts and processes. Riddle is joining the team as Greg Braun announced that he will be stepping down as deputy, global CCO at Commonwealth//McCann, and retiring from advertising after 25 years in the business.
As an experienced marketing and advertising professional, Riddle has held leadership positions at Deutsch, Fallon and BBH New York. He has spearheaded campaigns across every medium for major global brands including Volkswagen, Cadillac North America, Vaseline Global, Travelers Insurance and Holiday Inn. He has won honors at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, the Clio Awards, The One Show, Webby Awards, The Athena Ad Awards and Effie Awards, and his commercials have twice been nominated for Emmy Awards.
Riddle’s wide-ranging creative interests and achievements have put him at the center of the many ways in which media and messaging are evolving today. A creative polymath whose work has been seen in books, articles and trade journals all around the world, Riddle has won two screenwriting awards, including Best of Show for Best Original Screenplay at the American Screenwriters Association; directed a music video that was a Vimeo “Pick of the Day;” and had his painting series “A Tribute To Emily” open in a gallery in New York. In addition, Riddle has worked with major record labels including Interscope Records and Atlantic Records. He is a graduate of the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University.
