Directing duo Christian & Patrick has signed with global production company Sweetshop for representation across all markets.
Christian & Patrick–who had earlier been handled by Park Pictures–create stunning, immersive worlds, moving seamlessly between vast CGI landscapes, intimate emotional stories and perfectly art-directed moments in time. Their credits span such brands as Mercedes-Benz, Dulux, Thomas Cook, Audi, the California Lottery, Goodyear and Lexus. Along the way their work has won recognition from shows including the Cannes Lions, D&AD, British Arrows, Ciclope and ADC.
Meeting at architecture school, the pair began to experiment with animation and filmmaking, and soon began directing music videos for artists like Incubus, FC Kahuna and Bjork. With the latter, Christian & Patrick would form a longstanding relationship, creating a visual language perfectly matched to her ethereal, experimental soundscape. They directed numerous groundbreaking videos for her such as “Oceania” and the D&AD Pencil-winning “Desired Constellation” and “Unravel”; as well as the visuals featured in her 2004 Olympic Games opening ceremony performance, watched by millions around the world.
George Meeker, managing director, Sweetshop USA, said, “Christian & Patrick are seasoned storytellers who problem-solve with immense detail and craftsmanship, all while being perfect gentlemen.”
In a joint statement, Christian & Patrick said of their new roost, "As a company it has incredible reach, with offices around the world, but somehow manages to make it all feel local and intimate. We’ve been bowled over by its energy and ambition. Sweetshop is making the type of work we love–storytelling with a twist of humor, richly cinematic, creative, quirky stuff. We can’t wait to make our first film together.”
