Global content studio Pulse Films has signed director Joanna Nordahl to its roster for U.K. representation across commercials and music videos. Nordahl is a Swedish film director dividing her time between London and Stockholm. Her music videos, short films, documentaries and commercials as well as contemporary performance pieces have garnered her international recognition both as a director and visual artist. Memories, dreams, youth, time and nostalgia are some reoccurring themes in her work, often tightly woven into musical elements. In 2013-2015 Nordahl initiated and directed One Wish, an eight-episode documentary series for National Swedish Television (SVT). Joanna has also been in tight collaboration with Norwegian contemporary choreographer Ludvig Daae, creating cinematic and interactive visuals for live performances. In February 2016, Nordahl received a double Swedish Grammy nomination for Music Video of the Year, and took home the grand prize for writing/directing the short film Nothing but a Heartbeat, a collaboration with dreamy pop act Say Lou Lou. Nordahl’s latest work for the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education, #dearcondom, paints a raw, racy and honest portrait of safe sex. The film explores the freedom that comes with condoms and reverberated online for not shying away from talking about the fact that Scandinavians are particularly bad at communicating when it comes to condoms, and that many have mixed feelings about them. The film received widespread support across social media and became a trending topic, but was subsequently pulled from some platforms for its authentic approach. Nordahl also recently directed the music video for Tove Styrke’s infectious single ‘“Sway,” a visual ode to the carefree and magical summer nights of youth….
