With a decade of creating video content for clients such as the Chicago Blackhawks, Chicago Cubs, Google, Amazon and Reddi-wip, Banner has re-launched its business under the direction of new leadership that expands the Chicago-based company’s capabilities in the areas of content strategy, production and postproduction. Danny Wirtz, founder of Banner, shared the news which includes the appointment of Patrick Dahl as president as well as the hiring of John Jung as CFO, Michael Dahl as executive producer and Matt Jameson as editor. Michael Dahl brings 14 years of experience as a producer at advertising agencies (mcgarrybowen, Leo Burnett) and on the client side (Conagra Brands). At Banner, Dahl will leverage his experience on both sides of the production and content table to position Banner favorably in an environment with an ever-increasing demand on quality content by overseeing commercial production and postproduction while driving best-in-class practices. Jung earlier served as VP of strategy & operations at Pitchfork. Jameson, formerly of Whitehouse Post and We Are Unlimited, brings 13 years of commercial editorial experience to banner. In conjunction with the announcement of the new team, Banner has also unveiled a new visual identity and logo, an updated website and a hallmark video titled A Banner Story….
Seattle-born and Brooklyn-based filmmaker Janssen Powers has joined Venice, Calif.-headquartered Farm League Production Company which is active in commercials, music videos, brand content and documentary fare. From his ode to the Pacific Northwest in Muir Song to the bustling streets of Baghdad for A Portrait of Iraq, Powers has an affinity for capturing feeling and humanity. He cut his teeth as a filmmaker scouring the globe and was one of the first on the ground in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan in 2013.
