New York-based production house Bunker has signed director Bram Coppens whose credits include campaigns for Lexus, Range Rover, Dockers, Gillette, Braun and Adidas. Coppens is also a founder and creative director of Croma, a group that specializes in product-centric filming. Born in Belgium in 1980, Coppens graduated from the Brussels Film Academy, RITS. His campaign for Christian Dior earned a nomination for the Young Directors Award at Cannes. In September of 2011, he moved to Los Angeles to focus on directing in the U.S. market…..
Passion Paris, the French studio of international production company Passion Pictures, has signed director Samuel Tourneux. His first film made in collaboration with Passion, created by Leo Burnett for Coco Pops Porridge, was released recently and marked the beginning of a series of spots for the brand. A mainstay in the French CG industry, Tourneux studied his craft at top animation school Supinfocom before gaining a decade’s worth of experience as a special effects and animation supervisor in cinema and advertising. In 2007 his short film Meme les pigeons vont au paradis (Even Pigeons Go To Heaven) was nominated for the Oscar for Best Animated Short and since then he has directed numerous advertising films and varied shorts, including three for the Despicable Me franchise: “Banana”, “Home Makeover” and “Orientation Day”….
Laura Bermudez has joined NY-based Sonic Union as producer, promoter and connector. Bermudez brings over a decade of experience as an editor on commercial and interactive projects at production, postproduction and ad agencies alike. Having previously collaborated with such shops as B-Reel, Psyop, VEVO, Decon, Bikini Edit, and Mother, Bermudez has developed a network of producers, editors and creatives. She got her start as an assistant editor at Version2, later working on a myriad of commercial projects at BlueRock before transitioning to freelance editorial work. She has cut notable branded pieces for the likes of Verizon, Google, Budweiser, Crayola, and Samsung as well as interactive work including the Kanye West short film “Cruel Summer,” which was a 7-screen installation at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival….

Kevin McGurn, who heads 200 Stories Tall, will move his headquarters into Clutch Studios in Chicago to work alongside its 3D/CGI artists, creative retouchers and photographers to continue creating live action video for both brand and agency needs. Having worked with agencies, brands and filmmakers, McGurn gives Clutch a platform for integrating its artists, CGI services and shooting stages into motion projects. Oscar and Emmy-Winning Composer Kris Bowers Joins Barking Owl For Advertising, Branded Content
Music, audio post and sonic branding house Barking Owl has taken on exclusive representation of Oscar and Emmy-winning composer Kris Bowers for advertising and branded content.
Bowersโ recent film scores include The Wild Robot and Bob Marley: One Love, alongside acclaimed past works such as The Color Purple (2023), King Richard and Green Book. His contributions to television are equally impressive, with scores for hit series like Bridgerton, When They See Us, Dear White People, and his Daytime Emmy Award-winning score for The Snowy Day.
In addition to his work as a composer, Bowers is a visionary director. He recently took home the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject for his directorial work on The Last Repair Shop. The emotionally touching short film spotlights four of the people responsible for repairing the musical instruments used by students in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). The Last Repair Shop reflects the positive influence that musical instruments have on the youngsters who play them, and the adults in the LAUSD free repair service who keep them working and in tune.
