Colonel Blimp and Blink Productions have joined forces to consolidate their talent rosters. Colonel Blimp, originally the music video arm of London-based Blink, has in recent years under the leadership of Paul Weston, evolved to become a roster of notable young talent not only in music videos but across the advertising industry as a whole. Blink has historically been at the forefront of new talent in the industry and merging the two directorial lineups is a natural evolution, giving the market a more compelling and comprehensive spectrum of directors under one roster. The end of Colonel Blimp does not mean the end of music videos at Blink and the new consolidated proposition will continue to produce creative, beautifully crafted and culturally significant work in both music videos and advertising. Former Colonel Blimp EP Weston will preside over this new incarnation of Blink as managing director, working together with partners James Bland, Michelle Jaffe and chairman James Studholme. Executive producer Jennifer Zar has joined Hostage Films, a commercial film production company under the aegis of EP Melissa Beth and creatively led by director Ruben Latre. Zar comes aboard with 20 years of marketing and advertising experience including eight years of commercial production experience. She has worked on award winning campaigns across TV, digital and social channels for Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo. Zar was introduced to Hostage while serving as lead account director on a Hostage shoot in New Zealand with director and photographer Latre. In collaboration with clients and creative teams, Zar has led concepts through market research to production and air, working to develop engaging, long-running campaigns that directly drive product revenue. With clients including Verizon, Samsung, Microsoft and Pfizer, Hostage recently launched its film division, a tabletop studio, and upped its luxury brand portfolio with a New Years’ campaign for The Peninsula Hotel….
