New York-based production and animation studio Not To Scale has added director and visual-artist Jean-Paul Frenay to its roster for U.S. representation. Frenay’s credits include spots for such brands as Nike, Nescafe and Volkswagen, and the independent short, Artificial Paradise, Inc. He also creates visuals and interactive installations for plays, choreographies, and experimental work, is a talented photographer, and composes music with his electro rock band, I, The Phoenix.
Integrated production company ACNE has added Swedish directing duo Mรฅrlind & Stein, consisting of Mรฅns Mรฅrlind and Bjรถrn Stein, to its pool of filmmakers in the U.S. The duo has been working together for over a decade on films, commercials, and television. They are best known for helming box office hit Underworld: Awakening, starring Kate Beckinsale, and the popular Scandinavian crime drama series BRON, which has aired in 160 countries and been remade in the U.S. (The Bridge) and UK (The Tunnel)….
Hornet London has signed director David Luepschen. He got his start studying color design at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HAWK) in Hildesheim, Germany, before going on to graduate in 2010 from the Department of Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Duesseldorf. His first pieces were strongly influenced by skateboard graphics and later, by his passion for graffiti. His special appreciation for the smoky qualities of Indian ink can be seen in throughout his projects and give his art an honest and highly modern appeal. Luepschen’s comedic stop-motion film, Chit Chat Roulette, has been selected for screening at this year’s Pictoplasma Festival in Berlin. Fieldtrip works via 1stAveMachine in the U.S. Bruneel’s well known projects include an awareness film for Amnesty International and stylish music promos for artists including Alain Bashung and Punks Jump Up. Recent projects include a viral promo for artist TT, Diplo and Swick titled “Dat A Freak,” two in-camera spots for Nespresso, and a live action :30 and associated music promo for French brand Mennen….
