Greg Bell, a noted agency creative and entrepreneur who co-founded Venables Bell & Partners in 2001, has come aboard the directorial roster of Epoch Films. Bell left Venables Bell & Partners in ’09 to embark on a career as a director…. BBH New York has hired a pair of associate creative directors: Jesse Juriga and Nate Able. Juriga will become part of the Google team. He comes to BBH from Droga5 NYC where he worked four years on notable projects including The Puma Index, Puma Social, the New Museum launch campaign, Rhapsody’s “Jay-z Fans Get It” spot and The Tap Project. His work has been recognized by the One Show, Andy’s and Young Guns. Meanwhile Able helped launch the Xbox 360 and was part of the McCann Worldgroup team that split off to run the Xbox account at T.A.G. While at T.A.G., Able continued to do high-profile work for the Xbox account and garnered numerous awards for the Halo 3 “Believe” campaign, including the Integrated Grand Prix at Cannes. As associate creative director at agencytwofifteen (formerly T.A.G.) he turned out work for Xbox as well as Nescafé Mexico. Able began his career at McCann Worldgroup in San Francisco where he worked on regional and global accounts including Northstar-At-Tahoe, Microsoft and MSN….Colle+McVoy has brought Paul Isakson on board as director of strategy, a new position at the Minneapolis ad agency. Isakson will oversee brand and consumer strategy and planning, as well as lead digital strategy. He will also play a leading role in the agency’s new business efforts. Prior to joining Colle+McVoy, he was a co-founder of Thinkers & Makers, LLC, an innovation and growth consultancy that blended anthropology, design and technology to inspire and create ideas. Over the course of his career, he has collaborated with American Express, General Mills, Dairy Queen, Imation Corporation, Memorex, TDK Life on Record, Starz Entertainment, Molson Coors Brewing Company, General Electric, Sun Microsystems and the Colorado Rockies while in strategic leadership positions at space150, Sukle Advertising & Design and The Integer Group….
Ron Cicero and Bo Clancey Launch Production House 34North
Executive producers Ron Cicero and Bo Clancey have teamed to launch 34North. The shop opens with a roster which includes accomplished directors Jan Wentz, Ben Nakamura Whitehouse, David Edwards and Mario Feil, as well as such up-and-coming filmmakers as Glenn Stewart and Chris Fowles. Nakamura Whitehouse, Edwards, Feil and Fowles come over from CoMPANY Films, the production company for which Cicero served as an EP for the past nearly five years. Director Wentz had most recently been with production house Skunk while Stewart now gains his first U.S. representation. EP Clancey was freelance producing prior to the formation of 34North. He and Cicero have known each other for some 25 years, recently reconnecting on a job directed by Fowles. Cicero said that he and Clancey “want to keep a highly focused roster where talent management can be one on one--where we all share in the directors’ success together.” Clancey also brings an agency pedigree to the new venture. “I started at Campbell Ewald in accounts, no less,” said Clancey. “I saw firsthand how much work agencies put in before we even see a script. You have to respect that investment. These agency experiences really shaped my approach to production--it’s about empathy, listening between the lines, and ultimately making the process seamless.” 34North represents a meeting point--both literally and creatively.
