Fresh from scoring the CW’s new hit show Gossip Girl, the production team known as Transcenders has signed with Visual Music, a Woodland Hills, Calif.-based music company headed by creative director Tom Seufert. The Transcenders group includes three original members of the Black Eyed Peas, whose songs have been heard in films like Judd Apatow’s Superbad, Knocked Up and 40 Year Old Virgin. Their music has also appeared in TV commercials for Target, AT&T, Nike, Volkswagen, Old Navy, Microsoft, Nissan, Bud Light, and Levi’s. Transcenders was nominated for a Grammy in 2005 for Let’s Get It Started (Best Rap Song, Record of the Year) and they continue to collaborate with many artists, including Fergie on her new release The Dutchess….Weezer’s “Pork and Beans” video was honored this week with a Grammy Award. Created and directed by Mathew Cullen of Venice-based Motion Theory and produced by Bernard Rahill, “Pork and Beans” celebrates the best of YouTube and internet popular culture. It’s the ultimate web viral mash-up, cross-pollinating the song, web personalities, and cultural dynamics. The video garnered an incredible 1.2 million views in 24 hours on its way to becoming the #1 YouTube video worldwide for its first month of release. To date, the video has received over 20 million YouTube hits combined. “Pork and Beans” has landed on the VH1, RollingStone, Spin and Fuse top music video lists as well as top viral video charts of ’08. The video has also received nominations at the MTV Video Music Awards, MTV European Music Awards, and UK Music Awards….Recently launched New York audio post facility Sonic Union has added veteran mixer/sound designer Rob McIver, and producer/director of sales Rebecca Smialek….
Director Cassandra Brooksbank Joins Monument Content For Spots and Branded Content
Monument Content has signed director Cassandra โCassieโ Brooksbank for U.S. representation spanning commercials and branded content. She brings to her directing and storytelling the experience and skills of a writer, conceptual artist, editor and visual effects artist.
Her body of work as a director includes Pepsiโs โSelfieโ featuring Lionel Messi amid a flurry of fans, Barclays madcap womenโs Soccer League spot where she collaborated closely with the agency to develop the creative, ultimately winning the Grand Jury Prize at the Sports Industry Awards, and a grass-roots campaign for Fellow Coffee. The latter just didnโt brew buzz; it helped raise $1.2 million on Kickstarter.
Prior to joining Monument Content, Brooksbank had been repped in the U.S. for commercials by production house Hey Wonderful.
On the long-form front, she is repped by CAA for film and television. And on the horizon is her debut feature, My Masterpiece, produced by Sylvester Stalloneโs Balboa Productions and backed by Amazon.
