THE SPOTS
Two :30s introduce Deja.com, a site that features user-generated information, knowledge and opinion, as well as shopping services. In "Hunter Man," a pudgy, bookish man sits at his computer in his basement rec room, shopping on the Web. In faux documentary style, he relates that he’s not a shopper, but more of a "hunter." The man is shown stalking a fly, showing off his martial arts moves and playing bongos, as he describes how he goes to Deja.com to "bag his prey." "Paranoid Girl" shows a nervous young lady pointing out how "ad people whisper to her brain" when they discover she’s going to make a purchase. The woman is shown locking her door, checking her phone for bugs, and finally logging on to Deja.com, where she feels the information is untainted.
