Smuggler has made a couple of key additions to its core team: Sue Ahn who joins the L.A. office as an executive producer; and NY-based Trace Henderson, named East Coast sales and management associate.
Ahn has spent the last 11 years at The Directors Bureau, working with such directors as Roman and Sofia Coppola. She moves fluidly between commercials and music videos. Commercially she’s exec produced for a wide range of clients, including Nike, Google, Facebook, Levi’s, Honda, PlayStation, Cartier, Gucci, and Verizon. Ahn has also EP’d music videos for Jay-Z, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Haim, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, Julian Casablancas, Pharrell and Taylor Swift, among others. Ahn’s work with Arcade Fire earned her a Grammy nomination.
Henderson has spent the last eight years producing commercials, branded content, music videos, as well as feature and documentary films. He most recently worked as a producer at Droga5 on campaigns for clients such as Google, Audible, and Prudential. Before Droga5, Henderson worked in production and creative development at Verisimilitude, a NY-based film production and finance company. He served as an associate producer on multiple films during his tenure, most notably The Wolfpack, winner of the 2015 Sundance U.S. Documentary Grand Jury Prize, and I Origins, winner of the Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film prize at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival. He also served as an EP on the short film Toru which premiered at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and received distribution from A24.
