Siobhan Murphy and Spencer Dodd have been promoted to partners in the branded content & advertising division of production house Merman in the U.K. With a foundation set firmly in comedy, Merman has grown and evolved towards a more diverse range of output in both the visual and narrative arenas.
Murphy has been instrumental in that growth as part of the commercial division and the executive team from the company’s inception in June 2017. With the arrival of Dodd in 2019, the company continues to build with the signing of notable directorial talent such as Martin Krejci, Declan Lowney, Michel & Nico, Billy Pols, Vaughan Arnell and Ben Liam Jones to name just a few.
This past year alone has seen the team produce a series of successful high-end commercials for the likes of William Hill, DHL, Sony PlayStation and Sky while Merman TV and Film continue to gain plaudits for hits including Motherland, Frayed, There She Goes, Herself and This Way Up.
Murphy said, “It is an honor to be a part of such an incredible company and feel as respected, appreciated and valued as I do at Merman. I am excited to see what the future holds and look forward to building on what we have already created here”.
Dodd said, “It’s an exciting time for Merman and I’m extremely grateful to Siobhan and the whole team, not only for the opportunity to become a part of this great company, but for the trust, support and encouragement I’ve received since joining. I look forward to our future growth and development together.”
Kira Carstensen, global managing partner, Merman, added that she and Merman founders Sharon Horgan and Clelia Mountford “could not be more excited to formally recognize Siobhan and Spencer as our partners in the U.K. branded division. Since joining Merman, they have led the company, and our directors, with such vision and grace. We look forward to growing the company in new and exciting directions together.”
