Worldwide media buying shop Zenith Optimedia has entered into a working relationship with Beverly Hills-based entertainment management/production company The Firm. Per the arrangement, The Firm will explore and pursue brand integration and entertainment-based opportunities for Zenith Optimedia’s client roster, which includes General Mills, Hewlett Packard, Chase, L’Oreal, Nestle, Toyota, Lexus, Scion, Verizon and Verizon Wireless.
Plans call for those branded opportunities, including product placement and integration into entertainment content, to span traditional (TV, theatrical features, music) and newer media (Internet, videogames, cellphones). Rich Frank, the former chairman of Walt Disney Television, chairs The Firm, and will oversee that company’s work for Zenith Optimedia.
The Firm brings Hollywood expertise to the brand-building equation for Zenith Optimedia. Well connected to the mainstream production community, The Firm also has such notable clients as Cameron Diaz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Martin Scorsese, Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Vin Diesel, Linkin Park, Kelly Clarkson, Justin Timberlake and Queens of the Stone Age.
Helping pave the path leading to the alliance between The Firm and Zenith Optimedia was the former’s work for Toyota, a Zenith Optimedia client. Toyota trucks were featured in NBC reality series The Contender, which pitted aspiring boxers against one another. Frank helped secure this branding opportunity for Toyota.
Headquartered in London with 169 offices in 59 countries, Zenith Optimedia is wholly owned by the Publicis Group. Rich Hamilton is CEO, The Americas, for the company.
