How have you adapted your behavior, practices, policies, approaches, ways of thinking and doing business in response to the pandemic?
Like so many other businesses temporarily closing physical workspaces around the world, Wondros also made a very quick transition to working remotely. This has been an experience, we’ve never been busier and everyone in the company has given 110%. We’re turning this challenge into an opportunity and taking every safeguard for the health and safety of our staff, directors, artists, and clients. We’ve implemented new communications systems to accommodate our staff remotely, and teams check in frequently to ensure everyone is doing OK and has what they need. We’re fortunate to have managed this transition exceptionally well all things considering. Our work with our clients in healthcare has only become deeper and more urgent, and our approach to this work has evolved in light of the COVID-19 crisis. As a creative company with a robust video production offering, a number of shoots have been postponed, but we’ve also found creative solutions and new ways to do video production that we will continue to develop long after the pandemic is over.
Have you deployed your company’s creative and communication skills to address the pandemic (PSAs, educational videos, other initiatives)? Please tell us about these efforts.
Wondros is always working on a large slate of projects, particularly within healthcare, so when the outbreak hit the U.S. we launched COVID-19 Navigator, a simple-to-use dashboard that draws from trusted and curated sources to deliver straight talk about what you need to manage the impact of COVID-19 in your daily life. This is an important project for us at Wondros because we are passionate about healthcare and clear communication with the public, and tackling such a wildly complex challenge is what we are all about.
We’re also working on new ways to entertain everyone stuck at home. We partnered with Curb Your Enthusiasm’s JB Smoove on YOU ARE HERE, a weekly comedy variety show made by and for people on Coronavirus lockdown. I direct the show, created by Paul Peck in partnership with Michael Jurkovac and Igor Kovalik of The Bridge.Co, and one of the world’s largest independent publishing and talent management companies, Primary Wave Music. Funds raised by You Are Here go towards the causes and organizations best positioned to mitigate the worst effects of the pandemic, including the National Domestic Workers Alliance, GiveDirectly.org, and the Restaurant Workers’ Community Foundation Announces COVID19 Crisis Relief Fund.
