VaynerMedia New York has named Seth Jacobs as executive creative director. Jacobs will be responsible for creative initiatives across a range of clients. He will report directly to VaynerMedia’s global chief creative officer Rob Lenois. Jacobs joins from Anomaly where he spent 12 years, most recently as executive creative director and managing partner for the New York office.
“At VaynerMedia, our creative approach is social-first, grounded in creating culturally relevant content that truly resonates with consumers on platforms where they are spending their time. It was important to hire an ECD who understands and embraces this approach,” said Lenois. “With Seth’s background in the traditional and digital space, together with his storied career in both entertainment and advertising, he’s well-poised to lead our brands to connect with today’s consumers in ways that matter most to them. I’m thrilled to have Seth join our team and I look forward to seeing him create magic within the walls of VaynerMedia.”
As ECD and managing partner at Anomaly, Jacobs ran the Ally Bank account and Diageo’s portfolio of brands including Crown Royal, Captain Morgan, and Bulleit. Prior to this role, he was the agency’s first group creative director running Dick’s Sporting Goods, Duracell, Sonos and Google.
“After meeting with CEO Gary Vaynerchuk and Rob Lenois, it became clear to me that VaynerMedia is a place that empowers their people and truly values their thoughts,” shared Jacobs. “I’m invigorated by VaynerMedia’s unique approach to creativity and how they put social media at the center of everything. With the combination of both a people-first culture and a marketing engine that is future-forward, I could not be more excited to be joining this agency.”
The appointment of Jacobs as ECD is the latest in a series of senior hires as VaynerMedia continues to build out its capabilities. Previous hires include Isaac Silverglate as ECD and Mike Feldman as senior VP, global head of retail media.
