Comedic filmmaker and screenwriter John Hamburg has joined Saville Productions for exclusive commercial representation in the U.S. Described as the “poet laureate of comic anxiety” by the Los Angeles Times, Hamburg is the director of such films as I Love You, Man starring Paul Rudd and Jason Segel, and Along Came Polly, the romantic comedy starring Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston.
After directing his first film, the cult hit Safe Men, Hamburg achieved success as a screenwriter with his work on Meet the Parents and Zoolander. Hamburg’s latest directorial exploits include shooting the new Fox television series New Girl, a comedy starring Zooey Deschanel, which was named one of the eight “most exciting new series” of 2011 by the Critics’ Choice Television Awards.
In addition to developing various new projects for film and television, Hamburg is currently preparing to direct Brother From Another Mother, a comedy which he wrote and will produce later this year.
At Saville, Hamburg will join a high-profile roster of feature film directors including Martin Campbell, Paul Haggis, Barry Levinson, James McTeigue, Bryan Singer, Wim Wenders and Roger Michell, and established spot directors such as Lance Kelleher, David Harner, Daniel Borjesson, Ago Panini and Robert Nylund.
