THE SPOTS
"Childhood" opens on a group of twentysomethings driving down a road in a Saturn ION. They pass a town populated entirely by children on swing sets, rocking horses and slides. The passengers look on with amazement as the kids wave to them. The Saturn then passes a sign that indicates that the car is "Leaving Childhood." At an "Old Age" sign, the passengers decide to stop and turn back. "The all-new Saturn ION," states the voiceover. "Specifically designed and engineered for whatever’s next." In "Wedding," the ION passengers drive by a place where multiple brides and grooms are celebrating their joyous occasions, and a concrete building that features an "I DO" sign. As they drive away, it is revealed that they have just passed "Marriage City Limits." "Prom" follows the same premise, with the Saturn passing through a land of dancing teen couples, tuxedo shops and girls waiting for their dance invitations. Eventually, the Saturn passes a "Leaving High School" sign. The :30s all end with the tag, "It’s different in a Saturn." "Childhood" features "We’ve Been Had" by The Walkmen, and "Prom" uses Alphaville’s "Forever Young" as the track.
"Childhood" broke Jan. 9, "Prom" started airing Feb. 10 and "Wedding" broke Feb. 23.
