Director Tomas Jonsgรฅrden has joined RESET–the production company founded by managing director Dave Morrison and director David Fincher–for U.S. representation. Jonsgรฅrden’s latest American ad fare includes the Dell campaign work out of Y&R New York featuring such spots as “Brothers” which introduces us to the cosmic connection between the Kavanaugh brothers, and “Beginnings” showcasing the humble locales, mostly tucked away rooms, where major ideas and success stories were hatched (from Skype to Under Armour to Shutterfly to Dell itself).
Jonsgรฅrden comes over from Anonymous Content which previously repped him in the U.S. He continues to be handled by Knucklehead in the U.K., and Bacon in Scandinavia.
Jonsgรฅrden has earned honors from Cannes Lions, the Gold Baltic Awards, Epica, Eurobest, the Moscow Film Festival, Golden Hammer, New York Festivals, Voitto, Golden Drum, the Swedish Advertising Festival ROY, The Golden Egg and the Chicago International Film Festival. In 2007, he was voted “The Most Successful Commercial Director” in Finland and Sweden by the major agencies and the publication Dagens Media.
His storytelling spans such clients as Mercedes-Benz, Toyota, Sony Ericsson, T-Mobile, Volvo, VISA, MTV, Lenovo, Apoteket and KappAhl. His KappAhl women’s department store collaboration with actor Richard Gere was so successful that the actor insisted Jonsgรฅrden direct his next commercial project.
Jonsgรฅrden launched his directorial career in 2001, when he teamed up with Forsberg & Co, Stockholm, and began honing his personal style through commercials, music videos and Swedish TV jobs.
Prior to focusing on directing, Jonsgรฅrden worked as a still photographer, studying under fashion photographer Mattias Edwall, among others. He attended university in the city of Uppsala, Sweden.
