Director Adam Hashemi–fresh off his The Developer, a short film for Samsung out of Leo Burnett, Chicago, produced while he was at Furlined–has joined Reset for commercial representation in North America. Reset is the production house/content company launched in summer of 2012 by veteran exec Dave Morrison and director David Fincher.
Hashemi’s other recent credits include a Nike campaign for Wieden+Kennedy, Portland, Ore., and an Audi spot for Venables Bell & Partners, San Francisco.
A native of Denmark currently living in Los Angeles, Hashemi continues to be represented by Blink in the U.K., and Bacon in Europe.
The aforementioned The Developer, part of Samsung’s global “Design Your Life” campaign created by Burnett, features international soccer star Lionel Messi of FC Barcelona, rock singer Lorde, and costumes designed by Paco Delgado of Les Mis๏ฟฝrables fame. The short flows much like a musical, beginning with children echoing a special version of the song “Royals” by Lorde. A shadowy, mysterious figure emerges and, as the song continues, the man uses his Samsung GALAXY Note 3 and GALAXY Gear to spearhead a secretive (and seemingly devious) project. After wrecking balls and demolition trucks clear the space, the figure is revealed as Messi and the children rejoice at what turns out to be a newly built soccer field as a place of refuge in a dystopian tale.
