IAB Europe, the industry association for the online advertising ecosystem, has appointed Helen Mussard as marketing & business strategy director, a newly created role. She joins the organization as it continues its mission to enable digital advertising to support media plurality and Europe’s digital economy, to shape the regulatory environment and to help companies process user data legally with the Transparency & Consent Framework (TCF). IAB Europe, with collaboration across the industry, released the open-source TCF in April 2018. It’s the only GDPR consent solution that has been built by the industry, for the industry, creating a true industry-standard approach. This framework is helping publishers, technology vendors and marketers speak in the same language when it comes to obtaining user consent for data processing after GDPR. Version 2 of the framework is due to be released later this year in association with IAB Tech Lab. Mussard joins IAB Europe from a global AdTech company, Vibrant Media, where she was VP of global marketing. Her focus at IAB Europe in the first few months will be overseeing the release and implementation of the updated TCF to all industry stakeholders. Longer term she will be looking at how IAB Europe communicates with all constituents to help shape and implement the strategic objectives of the association, enabling digital advertising to innovate and scale throughout Europe. Prior to joining Vibrant in New York, Mussard lived in London and Berlin working both agency-side and in-house for TV channels, government organizations and digital start-ups…..
