Emerald Pictures has signed indie firm Diplomat for representation on the West Coast. The production company will be repped by agent and Diplomat’s founder Lauren Schuchman who began her career in advertising at Resource LA and later became an in-house sales rep for Hybrid Edit and Sweetshop, where she spearheaded both West Coast and national sales. Diplomat, which Schuchman formed in 2016, now represents Sweetshop as well as other live-action and postproduction shops, including Chromista, Interrogate, Minted, Society, Nomad Edit, and Mirada. Commercial and film production company Tinygiant has signed Mike Orsini of indie firm No Relation to handle commercial representation on the East Coast. Orsini embarked on his sales career at Uncle Lefty in 2012, and in 2017, he initiated the creation of No Relation under Uncle Lefty’s wing. This strategic move aimed to carve out a unique space, fostering a home for an expanding lineup of film, TV, and commercial directors, editors, composers, artists, VFX experts, digital creators, and technologists. Connecting with Orsini is another growth moment for Tinygiant, a certified woman-owned production company. Last year Tinygiant added directors such as Peggy Sirota to its roster. Editorial house Lost Planet has signed NYC-based talent agency Commonwealth to handle representation on the East Coast. Lost Planet will be repped by Commonwealth’s founder, Emily Friendship, and talent agency Bess Howell. Lost Planet has amassed many recurring collaborative relationships with scripted series’ like HBO’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty, True Detective and A Black Lady Sketch Show and popular musical artists Neil Young, Lady Gaga, Mumford and Sons, and Orville Peck. Founded by industry mainstay Hank Corwin, Lost Planet is home to a roster of award-winning editors known for commercial work with global brands as well as feature films like Requiem for a Dream, Almost Famous, May December, The Big Short and Don’t Worry Darling. French animation production and distribution company Dandelooo has appointed Hyeo Jin Moon as international sales and acquisitions manager. Moon will be responsible for acquisitions and all global distribution activities for Latin America, Asia, and Spain. She reports to Emmanuèle Petry, producer and head of international. With experience in business development and digital marketing, Moon recently worked at French webtoon platform Delitoon (Paris) as marketing and editorial team leader and was responsible for partnership development and sales and rights management. Prior to joining Delitoon she was deputy director at Korea Creative Content Agency, and marketing manager at Kotra (Paris). Dandelooo has commenced production on The Upside Down River, a serialized series for kids based on the cult novel by Jean Claude Mourlevat and has just completed production of the pre-school series Billy the Cowboy Hamster, currently airing on France 5 and the kids’ platform Okoo. The company’s key productions include the hybrid pre-school series The Treehouse Stories (four seasons and two theatrical films), which won an International Emmy Kids Award in 2017, Stinky Dog for France Televisions and TV3 Catalunya, the TV special Mum is pouring rain (winner of a Jury Award for a TV Special at Annecy 2021) for Canal+, Chico Chica Boumba commissioned by M6 and the animated feature film Houdini….
