Becky Jungmann, most recently head of sales at Station Film, has partnered with Lauren Schuchman, current head of US sales/West Coast rep at The Sweet Shop, to create Mischief, a Los Angeles-based commercial representation firm with a roster that includes Hey Wonderful, The Sweet Shop, Wondros, Lucky 21, Union Editorial and The Mission. Jungmann brings extensive experience as an in-house rep. After serving as West Coast rep at Anonymous Content, Jungmann went to Station Film where for six years she was instrumental in building the brand and roster. Schuchman began her career at independent firm Resource LA before segueing to staff positions at Moxie Pictures as production manager and head of sales posts at Hybrid Edit + Content, then The Sweet Shop, where she continues her role via Mischief….
Commercial and integrated production company Acne has secured Doug Stephen of independent repping firm Doug Stephen & Partners to handle the Midwest. In that territory, Stephen takes on sales and promotion for Acne’s directorial roster and digital division. Acne continues to be repped by Kevin Batten of Pop-Arts for the West Coast and Jolie Miller of Simpatico for the East Coast markets….
Richard LaBerge has joined Calibre, the British manufacturer of audio and video scaling and switching technology, as VP of international sales. LaBerge has more than 20 years experience in business management, leadership and product development globally. LaBerge co-founded Sensio Technologies Inc., where as VP he spearheaded the company’s success in licensing, business development and delivery of technologies to market. Based in Montreal, LaBerge will expand Calibre’s business into new markets. He will focus on increasing market share and presence in corporate AV, and Calibre’s existing customer base as well as growing OEM and own-label business, particularly in Asia….
Oscar and Emmy-Winning Composer Kris Bowers Joins Barking Owl For Advertising, Branded Content
Music, audio post and sonic branding house Barking Owl has taken on exclusive representation of Oscar and Emmy-winning composer Kris Bowers for advertising and branded content.
Bowersโ recent film scores include The Wild Robot and Bob Marley: One Love, alongside acclaimed past works such as The Color Purple (2023), King Richard and Green Book. His contributions to television are equally impressive, with scores for hit series like Bridgerton, When They See Us, Dear White People, and his Daytime Emmy Award-winning score for The Snowy Day.
In addition to his work as a composer, Bowers is a visionary director. He recently took home the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short Subject for his directorial work on The Last Repair Shop. The emotionally touching short film spotlights four of the people responsible for repairing the musical instruments used by students in the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). The Last Repair Shop reflects the positive influence that musical instruments have on the youngsters who play them, and the adults in the LAUSD free repair service who keep them working and in tune.
