Ralph Watson has joined CP+B, Boulder, as its chief creative officer, a role in which he will be responsible for all creative output from the agency. In December 2013, CP+B announced its migration to a more decentralized structure, giving their individual offices increased autonomy while still offering clients access to CP+B’s extensive global capabilities. The addition of a CCO allows CP+B, Boulder, to continue its momentum, while offering cohesive creative leadership and direction.
Prior to joining CP+B, Watson was with BBDO helping to lead the Bud Light campaign. Before that he was associate partner heading up the Goodby Silverstein office in Detroit and overseeing the Chevrolet account. During his career, he has worked from coast to coast in the U.S. including Leonard/Monahan, Team One, Arnold, and Saatchi & Saatchi NY. Watson has art directed and creative directed work for a wide variety of clients that has been repeatedly awarded at Cannes, One Show, Andy’s, Clios, Art Directors Club and D&AD with work for a number of clients including Miller High Life, Fruit by the Foot, and AT&T.
“Like many people in our business, I have always kept a really close eye on CP+B with a mixture of respect, admiration and at times almost hate. Hate stemming from jealousy and a desire to do what they have done–rewriting the rules of advertising to rules that we all now follow. They are creative, smart, honest, and fearless and the chance to once again rewrite the rules with them and do truly breakthrough, outrageously effective work is something I am incredibly excited to be a part of,” said Watson.
CP+B CEO Andrew Keller said, “Giving more autonomy to our creative leadership has really allowed our creative departments to gain momentum. Adding a chief creative officer specifically for CP+B Boulder will allow the Boulder creative department to maintain a vision and high standards for the work. Ralph is able to push media boundaries and create innovative advertising in exciting ways, which makes him a terrific addition to CP+B, Boulder. I can’t wait to see how we move forward in Boulder with Ralph at the creative helm.”
