THE SPOTS
Four humorous :30s harken back to the "good old days" of the 1999 U.S. bubble economy, when: one could get rich by playing a pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey-style game to choose stocks ("Pick"); office secretaries drove fancy sports cars, even though their tasks included just about every task, from clearing out paper jams in printers to dry cleaning ("Secretary"); venture capitalists paid big money for Web sites ("Pitch"); and woefully underqualified candidates were hired on the spot ("Interviews"). The ads include the tag line, "That was then, this is now," and introduce the "E*Trade Financial" name.
Spots broke Feb. 4.
