THE SPOTS
Two :30s for Advantage show humorous scenarios about how to keep fleas off pets. In "Armor," an Airedale dog sits on a street corner next to his owner, when suddenly a beagle, clad in a suit of armor, sits next to the Airedale. The visor slams shut over the beagle’s face, as a voiceover queries, "So, how are you going to keep fleas off your dog this year?" The scene then shifts to a lab setting, where a Labrador Retriever in a lab coat and bow tie explains the benefits of Advantage flea control, while an image of the insect is projected on the screen behind him. The spot closes with the first two dogs sitting next to one another; a loud clanking noise ensues as the beagle wags his tail. "Wet Suit" uses a similar storyline, but features Oscar the cat, who enters the kitchen through a swinging door to eat, outfitted in a full wet suit. As Oscar walks to the food dish, the viewer sees that he is also wearing an oxygen tank and respirator. He spits out the respirator and looks up at his owner. After the Lab extols the virtues of Advantage, Oscar attempts to lick his paw, only to have his tongue get stuck on the wet suit.
Spots broke in April.
