THE SPOTS
Three :30s feature an updated, CG "Michelin Man." In "Shuttle," astronauts prepare for take-off while paparazzi snap their photos and NASA gets ready for launch. As the astronauts take their dramatic last walk towards the space shuttle, they are joined by the Michelin Man. The voiceover notes, "Michelin is proud to be the only tire of the space shuttle, because so much is riding on your tires." "Dance" opens on a busy office, as a young man notices that the contents of his desk have started to shake. He looks up to the ceiling with a knowing smile, realizing that in the office above, the Michelin Man is dancing happily because, "once again, we have swept the J.D. Power and Associates awards for customer satisfaction. Now that’s worth celebrating." And in "Hands On," the Michelin Man completes a regulatory hand inspection of the award-winning Michelin tires. A disco ball descends from the factory ceiling as the tune "Never Gonna Let You Go" plays and the Michelin Man struggles to say goodbye to each tire.
