THE SPOTS
Three :60s spotlight Altoids newest candies, Tangerine and Citrus Sours. "Curious Body" opens with the super, "Your Curious Body." A prepubescent boy stands in front of a mirror as the voiceover states, "Meet Jimmy. Jimmy’s turning the corner from boyhood to Manville." Images of Jimmy longingly looking into the mirror, searching for a trace of a mustache, attempting to lift weights and having a father-son heart-to-heart talk appear, while the voiceover continues. "Remember, as you grow older your Altoids may change. Don’t be afraid to enjoy the curiously strong fruit flavors of Altoids Tangerine Sours." "Healthy Curiousity" shows the super, "Keep the Healthy in Healthy Curiousity." The viewer meets Theo, a young student conducting various science experiments at school. After temporarily blinding himself during a solar eclipse experiment, Theo hopes to have more success the next day when he attempts to discover what it is that makes things taste sour. Theo feeds Gilbert—the class guinea pig—one of the new sour Altoids and watches in horror as Gilbert explodes into tiny pieces. "Remember, use caution when experimenting with Altoids Citrus Sours," says the narrator. "Making Friends With Fruit" shows Jerry—an extremely uncool kid—at a pool party with lots of teens. Jerry brings grapefruits to the party, while Andrew—a very cool kid—brings a tin of Altoids sours to share. Jerry follows Andrew’s lead and he too presents a box of the new sour Altoids to the girls at the party, making him a huge hit. "When making friends, not just any fruit in a metal box will do. Way to go Jerry. The curiously strong flavor of Altoids Citrus Sours is always a crowd pleaser," the narrator points out.
